چکیده
Abstract Embryonic mortality (EM) is a major factor limiting reproductive efficiency in cattle, and despite negative connotations related to performance, prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α) capable of being released by the uterus Day 30 gestation. Therefore, objective was evaluate differences PGF2α release after an oxytocin challenge between cows with high circulating concentrations pregnancy-associated glycoproteins (PAGs) vs low PAG because association increased pregnancy success. At gestation, pregnant were divided into treatment (OT; n = 13) control (CON; 12) groups. Treatment further subdivided concentration (high PAG, 7; 6). Blood samples collected every 30 min beginning 1 h before administration continuing for 4 h. Prostaglandin metabolite (PGFM), progesterone, estradiol-17β (E2), quantified. The peak PGFM occurred 2 h injection animals returned baseline levels No correlations observed PGFM, or E2 (P > 0.05). There no difference initial final groups Progesterone decreased

Prostaglandin biosynthesis does not participate in isoproterenol-induced renin release.
Rat renal slices were incubated in two different media. One was a normal K, physiological saline solution and the other a high K medium. Renin release was measured every 15 min in the presence and absence of 10(-6) M isoproterenol and also in the presence and absence of aspirin, 0.8 or 1.6 X 10(-5) M. In all experiments renin release was linear during the 75 min of incubation. Isoproterenol inc...

background: the anticancer agent imatinib (im) is a small molecular analog ofatp that inhibits tyrosine kinase activity of platelet derived growth factors (pdgfs)and stem cell factor (scf) receptor in cancer cells. however these factors have a keyrole in regulating growth and development of normal sertoli, leydig and germcells.objective: the aim of this study was to determine cell viability, pd...
متن کاملMale song quality affects circulating but not yolk steroid concentrations in female canaries (Serinus canaria).
Male song complexity is a sexually selected trait found in many songbirds, including strains of the domestic canary. Studies on several species have shown that male song can affect the hormonal state of females and may also influence concentrations of maternal hormones in the yolk of their eggs. In this study, we show that the level of circulating androgens and oestrogens of female canaries, as...
متن کاملSleep restriction alters plasma endocannabinoids concentrations before but not after exercise in humans
Following binding to cannabinoid receptors, endocannabinoids regulate a variety of central nervous system processes including appetite and mood. Recent evidence suggests that the systemic release of these lipid metabolites can be altered by acute exercise and that their levels also vary across the 24-h sleep-wake cycle. The present study utilized a within-subject design (involving 16 normal-wei...
